Indiana State fair to have a Beer and Wine Exhibition for 2014.

This subject is a little off topic for cricketscoffee but living here in the mid west I just thought some our readers may also enjoy some wine new as well as coffee. The Indiana State Fair is looking for Indiana brewers and wineries to take part in the first-ever Indiana Beer and Wine Exhibition.   The exhibition will feature “tasting tables,” where beer and wine will be sold by the glass. Exhibitors will be staff these tables to educate patrons on the beer and wine making process. They will also be able to display their promotional materials and merchandise.     The new exhibition will be located in the Grand Hall on Main Street directly across from the Coliseum. This year’s state fair runs from August 1-17.

Starbuck Sets date for price increase.

The weather conditions in coffee growing regions and other factors are causing price increases at your local Starbuck. Starbuck is set to increase it 's 20 oz coffee buy about 15 to 20 cents in late July of this year. A 12 oz bag of Starbuck coffee you get at your local store will go from it's current $8.99 to $9.99 at about the same time. K cups are set to remain the same price as they are today. It is very likely that your local mom and pop coffee shop has already made a price increase for the same reasons Starbuck has, and Starbuck is just a little late to the game.

Espresso in space.

Last year Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano to the International Space Station. His main complaint was the lack of decent espresso. Seeing a new market, Italian espresso manufacturer Lavazza said it had partnered with Argotec, an Italian aerospace engineering company, to create a space worthy espresso machine for the International Space Station.     Called the “ISSpresso,” the new machine uses a capsule system to make espresso, caffè lungo, coffee, and other hot beverages. The company says the space coffee machine weighs 44 pounds and works under extreme conditions. It even works upside-down.     Lavazza says it expects the ISSpresso to be ready to go into orbit in November, when the Italian Space Agency sends its second long-term mission to the space station.  But with the recent drought and rust problem will the space station be able to afford the coffee? tags; space station, nasa, decaf, moca, espresso, coffee, coffee bean

Connecticut State Schools say no coffee next year.

Starting next year, all Connecticut state schools will not be allowed to sell coffee in their cafeteria. According to Superintendent Elliott Landon if the coffee is not removed, the school will lose its state aid. It is unclear why the state is mandating the removing coffee from the menu.     Connecticut State Department of Education School Nutrition Program for Fairfield and New Haven have made no public statements as to why coffee is almost as taboo as tobacco.   According to the Food and Drug Administration, studies show 100 mg to 200 mg (one or two cups of coffee) per day are not harmful.

The hidden cash craze is every where. With the hidden envelopes containing $50 cash and a US silver coin worth about $23. The reward is just enough to get people to look but not start riots as the hunters descend on the area the twitter clues send them to.   What will they do with the cash has ranged from help the poor to a trip to Starbucks. Good luck and happy hunting. tags; twitter, hidden cash, silver coin, cash, #hiddencash
