Hot coffee used as a weapon against police officer.

  A  man was arrested Monday after he allegedly threw a hot cup of coffee on a Lake County deputy who had responded to a disturbance between the Mr. Dill and his girlfriend. 


Mr. Dill of Leesburg has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. He is in the Lake County jail in lieu of $5,500 bail.


According to an arrest affidavit, a sheriff’s deputy responded to a location after a call had been made  reporting a woman in a home refused to leave.

Mr. Dill told the deputy he no longer wanted to be with his live-in girlfriend  insisting the deputy kick her out.

  The deputy tried to explain to Mr. Dill he needs to go through the court system to evict her.

Mr. Dill said he was not going through the eviction process and continued to demand that the deputy throw his girlfriend out the home.

   In the affidavit, Mr. Dill's cursing and screaming started attracting the attention of nearby residents.
The affidavit also says that when Mr. Dill allegedly refused the deputy’s orders to stop screaming, and put his cup of coffee down.

Mr. Dill instead allegedly threw the hot coffee at the deputy, which caused a minor burn to the official’s arm.

Mr. Dill was promptly arrested.

No word if the coffee was decaf.
